According to a concurrent civil lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Craig reportedly utilized gains from new investors to cover millions of dollars in gambling debts and to reimburse previous investors. Craig resigned from WFAN on September 13 after getting an indefinite ban, ending his ten-year run as co-host of Boomer and Carton, leaving Esiason as the only host. He claimed he made the choice to give his previous program "the best opportunity to prosper without additional disturbance".
