Rock's relationship with actress Megalyn Echikunwoke initially made waves in February 2016, when they were seen getting close and amorous at Clive Davis' 40th annual pre-Grammy Awards dinner.
That being said, they were initially seen together in September in New York City at the Global Citizen Festival.
She seemed to confirm their connection the next day when she tweeted about spending last night with her lover.
In November 2016, the main tabloids were rife with speculations that they had gotten engaged after she was seen wearing a ring. She, on the other hand, came out swinging and debunked the engagement rumors.
And four years later, news emerged that the couple had quietly broken up around late 2019.
But, the comedian didn't remain a bachelor for long as he started dating Carmen Ejogo, a fellow actor and singer.
In Malibu, California, Rock and Ejogo were recently photographed enjoying lunch together. They were also seen having dinner in New York in September 2019, not long after his breakup with Echikunwoke.
Bio, Age, Family
Chris Rock was born Christopher Julius Rock on February 7, 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina, but his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, shortly after. The family later relocated to Bedford-Stuyvesant, a working-class area in Brooklyn, and settled there.
His father, Christopher Julius Rock II, worked as a newspaper deliveryman and truck driver, while his mother, Rose Rock, was a teacher at a mentally challenged school. In 1988, his father died of an ulcer.
Rock was the oldest of his parents' four children, with three younger brothers named Jordan, Kenny, and Tony. All three of his brothers decided to pursue professions in the entertainment business after him.
He had to put up with searing racial prejudice because of his skin tone because Brooklyn's neighborhoods were controlled by white people who made up the majority of the population.
He recalls taking a different bus to James Madison High School that only carried black pupils. White kids beat him up and harassed him on a daily basis, and the tyranny grew worse with time.
Rock eventually dropped out of high school, but he did obtain a GED (general education diploma) certificate. During his school years, he had a traumatic experience with prejudice and intolerance, which had a profound impact on his career as a comedian.
