Ivy Zelman Parents

From a young age, Ivy was very driven and wanted to be successful. At the age of 7 she wanted to be the CEO of Mattel, the American toy company. Moreover, she would think of ways to be just like her dad who used to work in an import-export company called London-America, in midtown in New York City.

She was born in 1968 in the United States and lived her formative teenage years in the city of London. Her dad was allowed to leave overseas for 3 years, which happened to be London.

Ivy went to all girl's Christian School in London which was very hard compared to the Public school she attended previously. Then she again attended to American school. She was a Jewish.

When Ivy started college, her dad told her that he was really poor in statistics. Her father had even told her if she got a degree in accounting, she would get a job no matter what. Plus she was good at maths and started taking classes in accounting and her major was declared as accounting. Ivy graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science degree and majored in accounting.

She used to ask other accountants if they liked their job but they would suggest and indicate Ivy that it may not for her. Her friends would suggest she go to Wall Street as she is more outgoing and interactive.

Moreover, she went to night school for six years and had student loans and she was still paying student loans. But she worked tirelessly to try to get into the best of the brightest. She wanted to go to Harvard, Stanford, and Northwestern, and if she was to take the student loans it’s got to be the best MBA program. But she didn’t get into any of those three schools so at that point she was pretty devastated as she had worked so hard on her Essays and GMATs, unlike her SATs and applications for undergrad. So, she started looking for a job internally and fortunately for her Solomon's brother had a scandal which created a lot of openings

Talking about Ivy Zelman's siblings, she did mention having sisters.
