The lovebirds exchanged the wedding vows on 30 April 1990 at L.A.’s Regency Club. Alex was at the age of 49 whereas his wife was 25 years old when they tied the knot.

Today, Alex has one regret about his relationship with his wife. During an interview with People in January 2019, Alex revealed that he regrets that he couldn’t meet his wife in his 20s. He stated that if he had met her sooner, they could have had a long life together.

Health Issues: What Happened To Him?

Alex Trebek dealt with several health hazards. In 2007 and 2012 he suffered from two heart attacks. After three years of the attack, he had a head injury that occurred during a fall. He was then diagnosed with a subdural hematoma and was hospitalized as well.

In March in 2019, Alex opened to his Jeopardy! fans that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Following the diagnosis, he struggled with depression. However, his wife of 29 years, Jean stood by his side as his pillar of strength.

Alex, who bravely battled with cancer, was all set to host the "Jeopardy!" Greatest of All Time tournament.

Alex Trebek was born on July 22, 1940, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He passed away at the age of 80 at his home on November 8, 2020. He was fighting pancreatic cancer for around 20 months at the time of his death.
