Danilo Gallinari is an NBA basketball player from Italy who now plays for the Atlanta Hawks (NBA). He is a brilliant offensive player who can score in a variety of ways, making him a dangerous player for a variety of teams during his seasoned career. After spending his first four years in Italy as a professional, Gallinari was selected sixth overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the New York Knicks.

Despite missing half of the season's game due to injury, he was named the best Italian player in the second division championship of the Italian league in 2006, averaging 0.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 14.3 points, and 2.0 steals in 17 games.

In 2006, Olimpia Milano recalled him to participate in the 2006–2007 Italian league first division championship and the ULEB Cup, a second-tier European cup tournament (now called EuroCup). He was voted the league's best player under the age of 22 in his debut season in the top Italian division. He also won the 2007 Italian All-Star Game 3-point shootout competition during the season.

In the 2007–2008 season, he also competed in the EuroLeague, Europe's first-tier continental club tournament, for the first time. In 11 EuroLeague games, he averaged 14.9 points, 1.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 4.2 rebounds per game; he set a season-best with 27 points against Maccabi Tel Aviv in his last game.

He had an immediate impression on basketball courts throughout the continent, and he was awarded the EuroLeague's Rising Star award winner for the 2007-08 season.

New York Knicks

The following year, he was selected sixth overall by the Knicks. After that, he signed a two-year deal with the team.

The 33-year-old was diagnosed with back difficulties just one game into the 2008–09 season, and it was revealed that he would most likely miss the rest of the season. Despite his back difficulties, he returned to the court on January 17 in a game against Philadelphia, which the Knicks lost.

Months later, Gallinari set a season-best with 17 points against the Atlanta Hawks on March 4, hitting 4–5 from three-point range.

Likewise, Gallinari established a new career-best with 31 points in a 104–101 win over the Boston Celtics on April 6, 2010.

Denver Nuggets

Gallinari was moved to the Denver Nuggets in a three-team deal on February 22, 2011. He signed a multi-year contract deal with the Nuggets on January 25, 2012. On April 10, 2015, Gallinari set a new career-high with 47 points in a double-overtime defeat against the Dallas Mavericks.

He signed a two-year contract deal with the Nuggets on August 3, 2015. His season-high 34 points came in the third quarter of the Nuggets' 106–105 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 9, 2017.

Los Angeles Clippers

Gallinari was obtained by the Los Angeles Clippers from the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal on July 6, 2017. He made his Clippers debut on October 19, scoring 11 points in a 108–92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the team's season opener.

He had the best scoring streak of his career in March 2019, when he scored 20 points or more in nine consecutive games.

Oklahoma City Thunder
