Michael and his wife have been passionate about advocating adoption from underprivileged communities and his wife in general wanted to adopt a kid from Ethiopia but the adoption process for Ethiopia was slowed down which would make it very difficult to adopt kids from there.
During the duo’s first pregnancy, Michael was struggling and was without a job. A lot was happening at the same time and prying to Lord and reading Bible made him realise that God was speaking to him.
Their eldest baby boy Trace was born in 2009. Their son Lucas was adopted from China. At just five days old, Lucas was abandoned on the street due to having a cleft hand and feet. The McDowell couple feels thankful to have Lucas as a part of their family.
