In 2008 WNBA Draft Leilani was first drafted by the Phoenix Mercury with 25th overall in the second round but was soon traded to the New York Liberty.
Leilani won the MNBA Most Improved Player award in 2010. She was waived by Liberty on 7 August 2014 and she again signed with the Phoenix Mercury on 4 February 2015. In the second half-season of 2016, Lelani signed with the Washington Mystics but she was again returned to the Phoenix Mercury in free agency in 2017.
