Gregg Wallace is a media personality, presenter, writer, and former greengrocer best known for co-hosting 'MasterChef,' 'Celebrity MasterChef,' and 'MasterChef: The Professionals' on BBC One and BBC Two with celebrity chef John Torode.

He's been referred to as "simply the big, bald dude on MasterChef who enjoys pudding."

He has contributed to the publications Good Food, Now, and Olive on a regular basis.

Wallace has been married four times and has three divorces on his record.

Christine, his first wife, divorced him after only six weeks of marriage in 1991.

Wallace then married Denise, a former pastry chef, in 1999, and they have two children (Tom and Libby). Wallace obtained full custody of their children after the couple divorced in 2004.

Five years later, Wallace met his third wife, Heidi, In 2009, and the two married in 2010. Unfortunately, after 15 months of marriage, they split up and divorced.

In 2013, Wallace met Anne-Marie Sterpini, a 21-year-old woman, on Twitter, and the two married in August 2016. At the wedding at Hever Castle in Kent, Masterchef's co-host John Torode acted as best man.

In May 2019, Sterpini gave birth to their first kid, Sid. Wallace has openly voiced his dread of becoming an "old father," but has also stated that he would welcome the opportunity to have additional children.

Bio & Family

Wallace was born in the south London borough of Peckham on October 17, 1964, to his mother, Mary Pettman.

At the age of 15, he dropped out of school and began working as a warehouseman at the Covent Garden Fruit and Veg Market.

Before becoming a salesperson, he peddled vegetables at a Covent Garden stall. Later on, he was advised that starting a business could be a smart option.

In 1989, he founded George Allan's Greengrocers, which eventually grew to a £7.5 million turnover. 

Wallace worked as one of the directors of Wallace & Co, a restaurant in the London area of Putney, which he founded in 2010.

Gregg's Bar & Grill, a joint venture with the Bermondsey Square Hotel, debuted in Bermondsey Square in 2012.

One of Wallace's firms, West Veg Limited, was alleged to have collapsed in August 2013, owing more than £500,000. In addition, Wallace & Co owed suppliers £150,000 when both of his restaurants closed in 2014.

According to reports, the television personality has a net worth of over $5 million.

And as per the BBC salary list, Wallace earned £250,000 for presenting Masterchef and Masterchef: The Professionals in 2016, according to the BBC remuneration list.

With his own special brand of diet, he has lost four stones. At his heaviest, the MasterChef judge weighed about 16 and a half stone.

He lost weight by following a diet regimen that included cutting out fatty, sugary foods and 'retraining his palate' to appreciate healthier dishes.

He also cut down on the quantity of alcohol he drank each week, going from five pints a night to only a couple of evenings a week.
