Jenna Johnson is married to her Dancing with the Stars colleague Val Chmerkovskiy. They first met in 2014 after Jenna became a Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) troupe member while Val was already a pro at the show. 

Jenna and her partner, Val, initially started off as friends and began dating in 2015. The pair dated quietly for a few months, but soon called it quits. However, that wasn’t the end of their relationship. They had an on-off relationship, but in the end, they always found their way back to each other.

Soon, the duo got engaged in June 2018 in Venice, Italy, after Val got down on one knee. And as for Val’s decision to propose to Jenna in the Italian city, Val thought it was the most romantic place in the world while he visited there for the first time at the age of 17. So, he promised himself that he would propose to the woman he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with on his next visit to Venice, and he kept his word.

The DWTS pro duo then tied the knot in a glamorous wedding at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, on 13 April 2019. The wedding was an epic DWTS reunion and was attended by 200 of the bride and groom’s friends and family. 

Furthermore, their lavish wedding included a Vera Wang dress for the bride, a five-tiered wedding cake, and later Jenna changed into a timeless white dress designed by Kleinfeld for the reception and shared a surprisingly not choreographed and more of a spontaneous slow first dance to the reception playlist.

As the duo returned for DWTS ballroom for season 29, they had to take safety measures and drastic precautions, and were not allowed to live together because of the strict COVID-19 protocols on the show. And Jenna furthermore added that it’s not fun to be separated from her husband.

In September 2020, after being married for nearly 2 years, the pair expressed a wish to expand their family and have a baby.

Jenna Johnson initially was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance season 10 but was eliminated. Later, she became one of the mentors of the show “SO You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation” in 2016 and made it to the top 8. Likewise, she again returned for season 14 of the show and made it to the top 4 with Kiki Nyemchek.

Jenna then became a troupe member on DWTS from season 18 to 22 and became a professional on season 23.

Jenna Johnson was born on 12th April 1994 in California to father Curtis Johnson and mother Tamara Jean. She grew up in Provo, Utah, alongside her 5 siblings.
