Mac Jones was born Michael McCorkle Jones on 5th September 1998 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Gordon Pritchett Jones and Holly Jane Jones. His dad Gordon is a former tennis player who played at Florida State University and Flager College where he even was inducted into the Flager Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 whereas his mom Holly is said to have attended Mercer University.

As of now, his parents Gordon and Holly are attorneys and partners at Jones & McCorkle law firm of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mac Jones attended The Bolles School of Jacksonville, Florida where he played high school football.

Mac gained a bachelor’s degree in communication during his sophomore year in 2019 with a 4.00 GPA and later he earned a master’s degree in sports hospitality.

During his college career, Mac recorded his name in the Alabama record book in the 2018 season with a 94-yard touchdown pass which is the second-longest in the school history. During his 2020-21 school year, Mac received Academic All-American of the Year honors from the College Sports Information Directors of American in both Division I football and all Division I sports.
